Almeria has now become a significant golf destination in Spain

The province of Almeria is known as the warmest, driest and sunniest corner of Europe, with many days having clear blue skies with winter temperatures reaching c. 25 degrees and an average of around 17 degrees.  Almeria has been a destination for golfers looking to play for some time and with golf facilities continuing to improve a
nd the lower prices of the more traditional golfing destinations of Portugal and the Costa del Sol, Almeria has now become a significant golf destination and is proving very popular.  The region is also within easy access of 4 Spanish airports.

Almeria Golf Societies

Within the region there are a number of Golf Societies who play both social and competitive golf on a regular basis.  Not only is it a great way to meet fellow golfers, but by becoming a member you can enjoy the benefits of a green-fee saving of c. 40% when playing with the societies and also a discounted green-fee when playing outside of the society days.  Most local societies charge an annual subscription of between €10-€20.  In addition to golf days, many societies arrange social functions for family and friends such as BBQ's, quiz nights, dances etc.
